Volunteers

Ways to participate and contribute

As a nonprofit organization, volunteers do it all; run the business end, make costumes, choreograph, and sweep the dance floor. This is your community dance ensemble. Please take some time to consider how you might contribute and help out.

Audience
Dancers need an audience! Simply buy a ticket, enjoy the performance, and you will help with a show of support, while enjoying an excellent show.

Costumes
The purchase of costumes is the primary expense of a dance production. If you're handy with a needle and thread, you can help make the costumes that transform both dancers, and choreography.

Hair and Makeup
Dance makeup, and hair is often simple, but sometimes extraordinary. Your artful applications can help the dancers come to life.

Board of Directors
Get in on the decision making. The board is always looking for new ideas, and assistance with the business of running a dance company. The board meets the first monday of each month, Sept-June at 5:45 P.M. in the Portage County Library Rotary Room.

We warmly welcome you to attend a monthly Board meeting.

Photography
Pictures create a historical documentation of each performance. While few, if any appear on this website for security reasons, they are an important part of our archives. Dance photography is a recognized art form. Here's your chance!

Choreography
PDE tries to pay all of our choreographers. It isn't much, but it can lift the creative spirit somewhat to know that the endless hours of rehearsal, and muse get some reward. Please contact us if you would like to create a dance with PDE.

Contribute Financially
The Dance Partner Fund contribution program brings assemblies, school performances, and scholarships to local students. It pays for much needed equipment, such as the Marley dance floor currently under fundraising consideration. Your dance partnership with PDE can bring the art of dance to area schools, and the community.
