Artistic Directors
Pamela Luedtke
Founder and Artistic Director of Point Dance Ensemble.
She currently is a Lecturer at UWSP in the Dance Department teaching modern dance, and choreography.
Pamela has been very active in the dance community here in Central Wisconsin choreographing and performing in a variety of venues throughout the state. She started a troupe called the "Screaming Gypsies" performing the art of belly dancing all over the state. She has also worked with Very Special Arts in Central Wisconsin. Recently, she was a Lecturer at Lawrence University teaching the art of Social Dance.
Prior to moving to Wisconsin with her husband Greg and their two children, she danced as a soloist for Mary Anthony Dance Theater for eight years in New York City. She has also worked with renown choreographers Agnes DeMille, Anna Sokolow and Berthram Ross. While Pamela was actively performing and choreographing in New York, she also taught modern dance, choreography and movement for actors at Mary Anthony Dance Studio and Herbert Bercoff School of Acting. Pamela's choreography has been performed in New York, California and Wisconsin.
Amy Grumann Beversdorf
Assisting PDE as choreographer, she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree
from the University of Wisconsin -- Stevens Point, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin -- Milwaukee. She is also a certified Pilates Instructor.
Amy has danced with several modern dance companies while living in New York City. She has had the opportunity work extensively in improvisation and has collaborated with several acclaimed jazz artists. Her own choreography has been presented in Brooklyn, NY at the Brooklyn Arts Center and at Gowanus Arts Exchange.
She was the Staff Production Assistant for the Emmy Award winning documentary film Free To Dance: The African American Presence in Modern Dance, which is a co-production of the American Dance Festival and The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. She subsequently served as Editorial Assistant for the PBS website: www.pbs.org/freetodance. During this time Amy had the opportunity to work beside dance legends such as Bill T. Jones and Katherine Dunham.
Nerissa Nelson
Serves as the Co-Artistic Director of Point Dance Ensemble.
She currently teaches ballet and pointe at Turning Point Dance Academy. Prior to moving to Wisconsin with her partner Axel, she danced professionally for the Chicago City Ballet, the Boston Ballet and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. She spent 15 years training at various professional schools in Chicago, Boston and New York. Some of her performances include "The Nutcracker," "Swan Lake," "Romeo & Juliet," "Four Temperaments," and "The Firebird." Her ballet training is grounded in the Balanchine Technique.
Aside from her dance life, Nerissa is also an Assistant Professor at the UWSP Library. She has a B.A. in Journalism from Columbia College, an M.A. in Library Science from UW-Madison, and an M.A. in Communication from UWSP. She is currently working on a dance bibliography.
